Everyone Deserves Quality Mental Health Care
At the Dóchas Resilience Foundation, we’re removing barriers to compassionate, high-quality mental health support.
Mental health care shouldn’t be a luxury. Through community support, subsidized services, and a commitment to equity, we’re helping people in the Edmonton, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County areas and across Alberta access the care they deserve, regardless of the crap life has thrown at them.
About
The Dóchas Resilience Foundation’s roots are intertwined with the original mission of Dóchas: that everyone should feel accepted for whatever moment of life they find themselves in.
This naturally fits the Dóchas Resilience Foundation’s commitment to elite mental health care for all by working with our communities across Alberta and in the Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, And Parkland County areas by developing sustainable, meaningful programming, while not losing sight of the individual.
The Dóchas Resilience Foundation came from the brain of one of our own, Rachael Obst, who recognized early in her career that mental health services can be really difficult to access for many people, often due to financial situations (either minimal insurance or low income). Since we believe mental health is a key aspect in people having the lives they want, starting the not-for-profit as a Dóchas initiative was a no brainer.
At the Dóchas Resilience Foundation, we put this belief into action by providing personalized, accessible, and inclusive mental health support to uninsured and underinsured individuals in the Edmonton, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County areas. We also offer telehealth services across Alberta.
Our Values

Why Accessible Mental Health Care Matters
Mental health challenges affect 1 in 5 Canadians, yet many cannot afford the care they need, which, to us, is unacceptable. Access to mental health care shouldn’t be a luxury. The Dóchas Resilience Foundation adopts the philosophy of “no one left behind”. Through community support, subsidized services, and a commitment to equity, we’re helping people in the Edmonton, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County areas and across Alberta access the care they deserve, regardless of what life has thrown at them.
You Are Not Alone. We’re Here for You.
